From Ars Technica: Blogosphere growth slowing considerably
The number of new blogs isn’t the only thing that’s slowing down. The company reports that they’ve noticed a slowing in daily posting volume as well. Technorati was tracking about 1.5 million blog posts per day in March of this year, compared with 1.3 million posts per day from just a year ago.
So much for everybody “getting naked” on the net.
well your posting volume has certainly slowed from a year ago…
I think this is probably a seasonal thing. As the weather gets warmer kids go outside and have waterballon fights, etc. (like in that X-box commercial). It’s a good thing.
Anon: Yeah, but the point is that its not my fault; my low post rate is symptomatic of larger social trends.
I will say that I do quite a bit of posting and commenting on my course website, but thats more of an excuse than a legitimate justification. The truth is that I’d rather post things that I think fit with what I am trying to do here than just post things for the hell of it, and I haven’t had very much time to search around for things that fit.
But hey, I’m glad that some of you still check the page every once in a while. Maybe I’ll try to put in some more effort.
